A lighthouse serves to provide insight and guidance. Its beacon shines brightly to provide ships entry into safe harbors and to protect ships during turbulent seas from rocky coast lines.
It is my opinion that the National Golf Foundation provides a comparable role to the golf course industry and is, as their website states, “… the most trusted source of information and insights on the business of golf.” Its role as an “objective and independent information resource dedicated to supporting all the people, companies, facilities and associations that earn their living in the golf business” is vital.
Is the NGF beginning to shy away from this role due to the media’s use and misrepresentation of some its seminal research data?
