The website reads:

“Designed by legendary golf architect, Tom Fazio, and carved out of the incredible limestone quarry landscape by dynamite, The _____ ______ was considered the world’s most expensive golf course ever built in 2004.

Our par 72, 7,389-yard course is nestled against the exquisite backdrop of the Caribbean Sea, with exposed rock faces forming dramatic contrasts to the lush, rolling greens of the fairways and vibrant colours of bougainvillea. Extraordinary and ultra-exclusive in equal measures, and with just 10 tee times available per day (emphasis added), The _____ ______ has been described by some as being ‘like a ghost – often spoken of, but rarely seen.”

At this resort, that features 45 holes, rates are $2,500 per night. The hotel guest fee is $400 per 18 holes plus caddie fee. The public green fee is $4,000 per 18 holes plus the caddie fee.

Amazingly, though the Country Club has merchandise from this course that is located across the street, a golfer is prohibited from buying any logoed merchandise unless they are staying at the hotel or paid the $4,000 green fee.

That may be the ultimate branding statement chosen by the owners of this resort and Adare Manor in Ireland.

The course?  The Green Monkey.  It is part of the Sandy Lane Resort.
