Golf Business News reports,
“Currently, approximately 13% of golfers in the UK are female compared to 26% in Sweden, according to European Golf Association figures. However, Sweden is also looking to encourage more women to play. At the recent GCMA Conference Syngenta Ambassador Carin Koch described a Swedish Golf Federation initiative tagged ‘Vision 50:50’ to get more women into club management positions to influence club operations and female and family appeal.”

It should be noted that in the United States, female participation is about 20%. The National Golf Foundation has reported that the average female plays 15.4 rounds per year, is 42 years of age, and has median household income of $91,400.
